What is Mentabolic Health?
🧠 The Metabolic Connection to Mental Health 🧠
When people ask me what I do I tell them I’m a mentabologist. Of course this begs the question: what the heck is that? Simply put, it’s like taking a mind/body approach to healing to a whole new level!
Emerging research shows that factors like nutrition, blood sugar regulation, and inflammation play a critical role in brain function. Inspired by the principles of Dr. Georgia Ede, Dr. Chris Palmer, and other leaders in the field of metabolic processes, I guide individuals to find simple lifestyle changes that enhance their emotional healing work. A direct focus on achieving metabolic health has been proven effective in addressing challenges that impact feelings, attitudes, and the ability to manage even the most difficult emotional states.
Depending on each individual’s circumstances, this may mean:
Identifying daily choices and habits that may affect mood and cognition.
Supporting metabolic balance with tailored, manageable strategies.
Reducing inflammation through evidence-based nutritional adjustments.
Assessing sleep, movement, and stress to build sustainable, brain-healthy habits.
Of course talk therapy is an important tool and medications save lives every day. But we need to address the root causes of emotional imbalance that originate in the brain— and optimize the brain’s fuel and environment—if we want to unlock new opportunities for healing and resilience.
I’m excited to start this journey and invite anyone interested in this transformative approach to mental health care to connect with me. Together, we can explore how small, meaningful changes can lead to big shifts in well-being.
